Jon Greenwood,
Engineering Skills Manager, IHC Engineering Business (EB)
EB designs, builds and
supplies innovative engineering solutions for the offhsore oil and
gas, submarine telecom, defence and renewable industries. As part of
IHC, EB provides turnkey vessels with fully integrated equipment
packages. Greenwood introduced some of the techniques and equipment
that EB has supplied for laying rigid and flexible products on the
seabed, against the backdrop of the operating environment, as well
as both the technical and commercial challenges.
Magnus Campbell,
Engineering Services Manager, CTC Marine Projects
CTC Marine Projects Ltd is a
marine contractor based in the North East of England with extensive
capabilities and experience in the installation and trenching of
rigid and flexible products. In this presentation, Campbell gave an
overview of the activities and capabilities of CTC, before focusing
on the engineering challenges associated with pipeline plough
operation. The presentation had particular emphasis on the real
world challenges which arise from operating in an uncertain and
sometimes hostile environment.
