This international and biennial conference in the
field of Subsea Control and Data Acquisition is aimed at those
engaged in remote control and monitoring of subsea systems. The
conference held in June 2006 in Toulon provided a unique forum for
the supplier and operator of subsea technology, where one could
exchange views and experiences. The conference focused on all
aspects of subsea controls system engineering, with a special
highlight on future technology and the benign impact it will have on
the environment. The aim was to bring together the many and diverse
disciplines engaged internationally in this area of expertise. The
trend was towards new geographical areas, either in deeper water or
with longer distance offsets, all involving new challenges, which
range from drilling and production to work-over systems
requirements.
Experience gained and current challenges, as well
as new advances in technology was the main topics of discussion, as
was meeting the future challenges for the oil and gas industry.
This unique underwater conference, which has
represented the oil industry control systems groups for several
years, deals with controls and communication, remote data
acquisition and the enabling technologies associated with
hydrocarbon exploitation from a subsea environment.
